FAQs
Here are some of the questions I'm most often asked about coaching, leadership development, executive education, and working together more broadly. If you can't find what you're looking for, please get in touch.
Who do you work with?
I work with ambitious professionals stepping into more senior roles, particularly Executive MBA participants and graduates, as well as organisations and business schools looking to develop leadership capability through coaching, workshops, and executive education.
Do I need to have completed an Executive MBA?
No. While many of my clients are Executive MBA participants or graduates, I also work with professionals preparing for, or already in, more senior leadership positions. Often they will be undergoing other practical postgraduate study or have done recently but not always.
How do I know whether I need a Strategy Session or the Global Leadership Pathway?
A Leadership Strategy Session is ideal if you're looking for clarity on a specific leadership challenge, preparing for an important conversation, or would simply like an experienced sounding board.
The Global Leadership Pathway is a structured twelve-week coaching programme designed for leaders who want to develop over time with regular coaching, reflection, accountability, and action.
Following an introductory conversation, if we decide the programme is the right fit, I'll send you a programme overview explaining how it works, what to expect, and whether it feels right for your goals.
Are sessions delivered online?
Yes. Most coaching sessions are delivered online, allowing me to work with clients across the UK and internationally.
Workshops, guest teaching, and organisational engagements can also be delivered in person where appropriate.
Can coaching be funded by my employer?
Yes.
Some clients invest in their own development, while others are supported financially. I've delivered executive coaching as part of Executive MBA programmes within business schools, and also worked with organisations that fund coaching as part of leadership development for their employees. If you're unsure what might be possible, I'm happy to discuss the options.
Do you deliver bespoke workshops?
Yes.
Alongside my accredited leadership programme, I also design and deliver workshops tailored to the needs of organisations and business schools.
My work focuses on three core themes:
-
Leadership Transitions
-
Leadership Communication
-
Leading Across Cultures
Example workshop topics include:
-
From Expert to Executive
-
Presenting to the Board
-
Communicating Across Cultures
-
Giving and Receiving Feedback
-
Storytelling for Leaders
What makes your approach different?
My work sits at the intersection of executive coaching, leadership practice, and higher education.
Having worked as a Dean, Executive MBA Communication Lead and Coach, and Head of Teaching & Learning, I understand a lot of the theory around leadership, learning, and communication, as well as the realities of applying it in day-to-day life.
If you'd like to learn more about my background, you'll find further information on my About page. I also share regular leadership insights and publish 'The Long View', my monthly LinkedIn newsletter exploring leadership, learning, and communication.
How do you work?
My coaching philosophy is simple: Warm, steady support but no easy outs.
I aim to create a supportive environment where you can think clearly, reflect honestly, and explore new ideas. At the same time, I believe meaningful development requires accountability.
Every client is different. Some people are looking for a purely coaching-based approach, while others value a balance between coaching and more direct guidance. We'll discuss your preferences during the onboarding process so that our work together reflects what will be most helpful for you.
How long do people typically work with you?
It depends on your goals.
Some clients book a single Leadership Strategy Session to work through a specific challenge.
Others choose the Global Leadership Pathway, my structured twelve-week coaching programme.
For organisations and business schools, the length of an engagement depends on the programme, workshop, or coaching support required.
What happens before we start working together?
For coaching programmes, organisational partnerships, and business school collaborations, we begin with an introductory conversation.
This gives us the opportunity to discuss your goals, answer any questions, and decide whether we're the right fit to work together.
Strategy Sessions are different. As these are standalone sessions, they can be booked directly.
